Deputy Director: Saji Thomas

Saji Thomas is the Deputy Director of SARTTAC. Since joining the IMF in 2002, he has worked on surveillance, lending programs, and technical assistance for a range of countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. His current research interests include fiscal policy and its coordination with monetary policy, sovereign debt, and fiscal rules. Saji previously served in the IMF Fiscal Affairs Department with a focus on emerging market and developing economies. Prior to joining the IMF, he worked as an economist at the World Bank Research Department. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
